William F. Hemberger, 82 of New Monmouth, Dies

Married for 62 years, Hemberger was a Korean war vet, youth coach and square dancer.

William F. Hemberger, 82, loving and devoted husband, father and friend, of New Monmouth, NJ passed away at home on Thursday, September 27, 2012. He was a 1947 graduate of Leonardo High School and was inducted into the Lion’s Hall of Fame in 1995. He was a lithographer and member of the Amalgamated Lithographic Union, retiring in 1991. He served in the military during the Korean War as an army engineer attached to artillery. He was a volunteer coach of Saint Mary’s baseball, basketball, MYAA and BYAA baseball for many years. He was an avid athlete playing tennis and racquetball into his 80s. He was a member of Saint Mary’s Parish from childhood.
