Lucy Biernacki died peacefully on January 24, 2013. She was a long time resident of Middletown, NJ. Lucy was loved by all she met and was treasured for her wit and sense of humor. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roman (Roy); sister, Fannie; brothers, Carmelo and Joseph; her parents, Gaeatano and Antoinette Sanfilippo; son-in-law, Weldon Bloyed; and grandson, Waylon Biernacki. Surviving are her children, Richard Biernacki and his long time partner David Henritzy; Mary Bloyed, Linda and Dennis McGinnis, and Roman and Liz Biernacki. She leaves grandchildren Steve, Donna, Scarlett and Kevin; and 3 great-grandchildren Julia, Steven,and Brandon. She is also survived by two nieces, Mary and Josephine Sanfilippo. Mary Matera (nee D'Alvia), 93, died on Friday, January 4, after a brief illness at home surrounded by her family. She was born on November 23, 1919 in Jersey City, NJ. She lived there with her husband, Henry, a practicing attorney who preceded her in death in 1992. In 1972 they moved to Middletown where she resided until her death. She took great pleasure and delight in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Marianne Avigdor and MarieLizabeth Arcomano; two sons-in-law, Dr. Sevi Avigdor and Keith Arcomano; five grandchildren, Marc Avigdor, Juliette and Lesley Portnoy, Noelle Arcomano, and Nicholas Arcomano; and her three great-grandchildren, Rose Portnoy, Evan Portnoy, and Jesse Portnoy. …
