ReplyI personally know children in the special education classes. But let's work with your reasoning Marylou. You allegation is that performance ranking is held down because of stupid kids, kids that don't measure up to your IQ standards, and, worst of all to you, kids that are mentally handicapped in any way (you likely call them "retards"). So to maintain a school's performance rating, if your logic applies, we need exclude from those schools every child who you do not consider "smart." So for the, and let's call them the "good" schools, we'll have to exclude anyone you consider dumb, learning disabled in anyway, or don't have the means or support at home. And, according to you, in only those "good" schools can we adequately measure teacher performance. There's a name for what you want - segregation - and a name for the mind set that drives it - bigotry. [You may also want to look into whether and to what extent kids in special needs classes take the NJ ASK exam and, therefore, are included in the rankings. You may be surprised about what you find.] All of this because you can't figure out a way to hold teachers accountable for how they perform in a classroom. Tsk tsk tsk.

ReplyUh, oh, your ignorance is showing again. You really should learn something about the special education programs offered at Bayshore. When you do, come back to Patch and apologize to the students in those programs and the parents who love those kids.

ReplyAgree ES. Apparently marylou believes special needs children aren't worthy of education or should be locked up somewhere. They tried that in Germany in the 1930s and 40s. She should do some research about special needs education before publishing her ignorant ideas.

ReplyAP-Gate, Benghazi-Gate, IRS-gate, election-fraud, apologizing for Islamic terrorists - let's stay focused on the real policital news please. The tyrannical activities by the WH have nothing to do with the race of the man who lives there - although people Nucky and the libs would like to use the race card to avoid having the truth come out about the Emperor in Chief. People died, Obama lied! People died, Obama lied! People died, Obama lied!

ReplyI too think this will bring attention back to the Jersey Shore. In a way, it may be a PR coup for the shore businesses to do this. All of you haters would be yelling that Governor Christie is not doing enough for the shore if this didn't happen. Maybe you'd prefer such great role models like Snooki and The Situtuation. Get over yourselves.

ReplyI call for all teachers to make public their medical records, and while we're at it, all police officers, firemen (paid of course), principals, the town clerk, and librarians too. They are all paid with tax dollars - that's what Four Score and the other haters want. [Look, there is a VP and there is a succession plan while an official, like the Governor, may be incapacitated. That doesn't mean their health records become public.] Let's focus on some real news please?

ReplyWell said Maxim! Any fool can bring a lawsuit. I know of folks who ate right through their weight loss surgery (that is kept eating like a pig) and then sued the doctor. Of course, the fattys lost. His medical records are his. If all of you who think we're entitled to his medical records - because all teachers are paid through tax dollars, do we get their medical records too??

We've all seen high school year books dedicated to a senior that died in a car accident during a holiday weekend or around prom time. Maybe show one of those to your kids, hug them, kiss them and say you don't want a dedication in their name - you want THEM. There is a lot of life to live after high school - don't let them make a stupid decision about alcohol or drugs cut that short. If it sounds like I am preaching - I am and it's from my own experience.
