Joe Marques For State Senate, Neighbor

Joe, originally from North Arlington, and wife Diana settled in Hazlet 22 years ago. They have two daughters, Melissa, a recent graduate of William Paterson University, and Miranda who is attending Virginia Tech.

Joe is a Mortgage Loan Originator for Residential Home Funding Corp. in Red Bank. He began his career as a high school teacher where he taught business education. From there he started EverReady Messenger Express, a messenger service still in existence today. Joe was a project manager for for AT&T, Telcordia and worked for Verizon as a Customer Service/Sales Representative and as an Outside Facility Technician. Joe was a member of the NJEA, Communication Workers of America Local 1022 and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 827.

Joe has a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from Fairleigh Dickinson University, a Computer Programmer Certificate from the Chubb Institute, a Project Management Professional Program Masters Certificate from AT&T School of Business/Stevens Technical Institute and a NMLS license as a Mortgage Loan Originator.

Joe has always been active in the community and served on the Hazlet Township Committee and the Hazlet Zoning Board. Joe volunteers for many charity events including the Democratic Club Charity Horseshoe Tournament. Joe is also the Chairperson for the Hazlet 5K run that benefits local non-profit groups in the Bayshore area.

In the past Joe organized RAGE, Residents Against Giant Electric, which successfully kept high tension wires out of the Bayshore area. He was also a member of the Ad-Hoc School Redistricting Committee, the Hazlet Train Station Redevelopment Committee, and led the petition drive against the Hazlet Town Hall location in Veteran's Park.
