Child Safety a Priority Through Youth ID Program

The Monmouth County program will be offered at National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 6.

The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office continues to make child safety a priority through its Youth ID Program.

The program encourages parents to sign up for a credit card size photo ID of their child. The parent or guardian would carry the ID card, and in an emergency, give the card to local first responders to aid in the location and return of the child.

“The Youth ID Program is offered year round and helps ensure the safety of our children, which is a top priority at the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office,” said Sheriff Shaun Golden.

To participate in the program, parents must complete a brief information and authorization form. Then a digital photo is taken, the information and photo is placed on the card, and it is mailed to the parents.

The Sheriff’s Office issued 600 youth ID cards during the Monmouth County Fair.
