Services for Alexis Mason Scheduled

Visitation hours and a funeral service have been announced for the 12-year-old Middletown girl.

Alexis "Lexi" Taylor Mason, 12, of Middletown died on July 23 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. 

She was born in Edison and lived in Middletown for the last five years. Lexi was a 7th grade student at Thompson Middle School in Middletown. She was on the St. Mary's soccer team and played softball with the Middletown Youth Athletic Association. Lexi loved to dance, she attended dancing school at Emotions in Motion Dance Studio in Middletown. She had a contagious smile, many friends including her best friend Jamie. She just completed 6th grade with high honors. Her love of learning and passion for all that she did was evident to everyone who knew her. She loved being a big sister to Brianna and Jessica as well as the oldest cousin to Jacob, Josh, Kiera, Tara, Julia, Alyssa, and Nicole.

Surviving are her parents, Robert and Denise Mason; 2 sisters, Brianna and Jessica Mason; grandfather, Anthony Corsaro; grandparents Robert and Dianne Mason; uncles and aunts, Christopher and Ellyn Corsaro; Frank and Joanne Mason; aunt Donna Mason Karlis and Michael Karlis and uncle Dan Mason; as well as her great-grandmother, Shirley Mason; and lots of cousins.

Alexis was preceded in death by her grandmother, Janice Corsaro.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at St. Catharine's Church, 108 Middletown Rd., Holmdel. Please do not arrive for the evening visitation before 7:30 p.m.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday, July 27 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catharine's Church. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
