A 73-year-old Carteret man has been killed in an early morning crash on the southbound side of the Garden State Parkway in Tinton Falls Monday morning.
New Jersey State Police Sgt. Adam Grossman said Allen Tandyrak's silver Ford Explorer left the road at 5:01 a.m. and went into the woods near mile marker 104.3. Grossman said the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames after going into the woods.
Sgt. Brian Polite said Tandyrak was the only person driving the car and that he "may have suffered a medical episode" prior to the crash," and that it did not appear that any other vehicles were involved.
The crash is still under investigation, Polite said.
